Looking for a cost effective way to build access tracks and platforms across multiple sites?

Recently Dura-Base mats were deployed at various level crossings in Victoria to support their rail upgrade program.

On this project, the mats were utilised in three ways :

  • As a heavy-duty roadway to support the movement of concrete trucks, cranes and piling rigs.
  • As a temporary hardstand, reducing the amount of imported fill required for their piling platform.
  • As loading spreading plates to protect existing infrastructure.

With one trailer carrying 420sqm of coverage, client was able to reduce the number of trucks delivering to the site situated on a busy intersection. Installation was done within a day.

A huge advantage came when the job progressed to the next level crossing. Instead of spending time and money on remediation works, transport and fill for the next platform, the same set of Dura-Base mats were picked up and redeployed.
